Created in 1999, the Hospital Center of Cova da Beira (CHBC) comprises the Pêro da Covilhã Hospital and the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health in the city of Covilhã and the Hospital of Fundão in the city of Fundão, both located in the Centro region. CHCB assumes itself as a modern and innovative hospital unit which has as its mission:
> Provide healthcare services in time, with efficiency and high quality;
> Develop referential research and high responsibility teaching as nuclear hospital of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Beira Interior

and Mental Health (Adults, Child and Adolescents),
Health of Child and Women (Reproductive
Medicine, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Pediatrics,
etc.), Urgency/Emergency (Intensive Care Medicine,
Cerebrovascular Accidents, Intensive Care,
General Urgency) and Diagnosis and Therapeutics
Services (Pathological Anatomy, Medical Imaging,
Imunohemotherapy, Clinical Pathology and Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation).
In a short term, will be part of the CHCB portfolio,
the Cardiac Rehabilitation that can also be offered
in the CHCB Medical Tourism project.

Target Markets / Clients
CHCB assumes itself as a national and international referential hospital unit. Its healthcare services are intended to all the people who wants/needs efficient and high quality healthcare services. In the Medical Tourism project offer, CHCB will have a Cardiac Rehabilitation Program which is intended to national and international cardiovascular patients. This program is closely linked to the Interventional Cardiology Unit project, promoting a greater safety and quality in the treatment of the cardiovascular patient.
