The prothrombin gene has been the target of several studies associated with thrombotic diseases. In 1996 it was identified a sequence variation of this gene, characterized by transition from a G by a A at position 20210 (G20210A).
This gene mutation is responsible for an aminoacid exchange (glutamine to arginine). This variation results in a decrease of recognition of the cleavage sites in mRNA (poly-A tail).
This kit contains typing strips with dried primers mixes and PCR Master Mix for typing of polymorphism 20210 of Prothrombin factor II gene. |
