The gram-negative bacteria, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP) is the responsible agent of pleuropneumonia and includes at least 12 different serotypes associated with different virulence levels. The most virulent serotypes are types 1,5, 9, 11 and 12. This bacterium infectes pigs respiratory tract and produces a toxin that can cause severe lung damage.
APP Qual PCR Box 1.0 detects omlA gene that encodes the A protein of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae external membranes.
APP Qual PCR Box 1.0 is a test for molecular diagnosis of infection with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae with higher sensitivity, specificity and faster than traditional methods.
