Haemophilus parasuis is a coccobacillus gram-negative bacterium that infects only pigs. This bacterium is responsible for great economic losses in the pig farm sector. There are about 15 serotypes of H. Parasuis that differ mainly in their pathogenicity level. This bacterium is the etiological agent of Glasser's disease, characterized by the presence of polyserositis involving the pleura, pericardium and peritoneum. However, it can also be associated with other diseases, including meningitis, pneumonia and purulent arthritis serofibrinosa.
Haemophilus parasuis Qual Box 1.0 is a test for molecular diagnosis of H. parasuis infection, with a greater sensitivity, specificity and speed compared with traditional culture methods.
Haemophilus parasuis Qual Box 1.0 detects the gene coding for Haemophilus parasuis 16S rRNA.
