The Influenza type A virus is a genre belonging to the family Orthomyxoviridae
of viruses and is the etiological agent of influenza in birds and in some
mammals, particularly pigs. Occasionally, viruses can be transmitted from wild
birds to domestic animals, which can cause outbreaks of influenza and
influenza pandemicsin humans. Influenza A viruses are classified according to
the type of haemagglutinin (H1 to H16) and the neuraminidase (N1 and N9),
and, at the structural level, the type A influenza viruses are all similar. The
genome consists of about 13,588 base and organized into eight strands of
RNA of the negative single encoding eleven proteins.
Influenza A Qual PCR Box 1.0 is a molecular diagnostic test for infection by
Influenza A virus with greater sensitivity, specificity and faster than traditional
methods.
