The Lawsonia is a genus of gram-negative, obligate intracellular, causing
proliferative enteritis in several animals such as pigs, deer, mice,
hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, sheep, horses, foxes, dogs, ferrets, nonhuman
primates, emus and ostriches. Infections caused by these bacteria are a major
concern for farmers.
Lawsonia sp. Qual PCR Box 1.0 is a molecular diagnostic test
for the genus Lawsonia infection with greater sensitivity, specificity and faster
than traditional methods of culture.
