Leptospira, a bacterium-shaped spirochete with growth laboratory verycomplex and time consuming, is the etiologic agent
of leptospirosis. This infectious disease can affect both wild animals as pets, in
addition to being one of the most widespread
zoonoses worldwide. The Leptospira is achieved through contact with infected
urine, water contaminated with urine, among other routes. There
are nine species divided in about 200 different serotypes, organized according
to their antigenic characteristics, and certain serotypes may be more
prevalent than others depending on the geographic region in question,
adapting to their host.
Leptospira Qual PCR Box 1.0 is a test for molecular diagnosis of Leptospira
infection with greater sensitivity, specificity and faster than traditional
methods of culture.
