Parainfluenza-3 (PI3) is a bovine RNA virus of Paramyxovirus Family that
causes respiratory disease, particularly pneumonia. The infection
is moderate, but predisposes the animal to other pathogens, causing a
worsening of the disease. The prevalence of parainfluenza 3 virus in cattle is
high and transmission is very easy, being carried out mainly via inhalation of
virus contained in aerosols. Detection of virus in clinical samples is, in most
cases, difficult, and therefore the molecular identification is an important
technique in the detection of the virus since it has a high sensitivity.
PI3 Qual PCR Box 1.0 is a molecular diagnostic test for infection
with parainfluenza virus genus, with greater sensitivity, specificity and faster
than traditional methods.
PI3 Qual PCR Box 1.0 detects the gene encoding the M
protein of parainfluenza-3 virus. |
